Job summary

Lilly is seeking a scientist to design and execute formulation and process development studies for RNA-LNP drug products. You will support technology transfer and manufacture of early-phase clinical trial supplies, working across Discovery, API Development, and CT Operations.

The role involves developing LNP manufacturing processes, applying design of experiments, and presenting data to interdisciplinary teams. Strong collaboration and documentation are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field with 4+ years of industry experience or advanced degree with related work.
• Hands-on experience formulating RNA-LNPs, including rapid mixing and downstream processing (TFF, dialysis, sterile filtration).
• Experience with RNA-LNP analytical methods and data interpretation.
• Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; visa sponsorship not provided.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and execute experiments with increasing independence and manage multiple priorities across CMC functions.
• Develop and scale LNP manufacturing processes including rapid-mixing nanoprecipitation, buffer exchange, TFF, and sterile filtration.
• Characterize relationships between process parameters and LNP QC attributes using DOE where appropriate.
• Perform RNA-LNP characterization using DLS, RiboGreen, UPLC/HPLC, and RNA integrity methods; interpret results for product quality.
• Present data at team meetings and external conferences as needed.
• Support technology transfer of RNA-LNP formulations to internal or CDMO sites for early-phase CT manufacture.
