Job summary

Lilly in Boston, MA is seeking a Scientist to design and execute RNA-LNP formulation and process development studies, supporting tech transfer and early-phase manufacturing. You will work with Discovery, API Development, Analytical Development, Bioproduct Research & Development, CT Operations and Manufacturing.

The role emphasizes hands-on formulation, characterization (DLS, RiboGreen, UPLC/HPLC), data interpretation, and technical reporting. US work authorization required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of relevant industry experience or Master's degree in a related field.
• Hands-on experience formulating RNA-LNPs (e.g., mRNA, siRNA) including rapid-mixing and downstream processing (TFF, dialysis, sterile filtration).
• Hands-on experience with RNA-LNP analytical methods and interpreting data.
• Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; Lilly does not sponsor visas.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and execute experiments with increasing independence across CMC and development teams.
• Develop and scale LNP manufacturing processes including rapid-mixing and downstream steps.
• Characterize process-parameter relationships with QA using DOE.
• Present data at team meetings and external conferences as needed.
• Support technology transfer of RNA-LNP formulations to internal or CDMO sites.
