Job summary

10x Genomics is seeking a Senior Scientist to join the Process Development team in Pleasanton, CA, to support development and commercial launch of new products. You will work cross-functionally to develop, optimize, validate, and transfer new chemistries and processes for 10x reagents and consumables.

You will plan and execute experiments, maintain records, analyze data, and communicate results to enable critical design and manufacturing decisions. Expect travel up to 10% internationally.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry with 5+ years of industry experience.
• Ability to integrate multiple scientific and engineering disciplines.
• Experience designing meaningful experiments and analyzing results with statistics.
• Strong documentation and communication of experimental design and results.
• Understanding of physical chemistry for scaling up manufacturing.
• Ability to transfer processes to manufacturing or vendors.
• Collaborative and effective cross-functional communication.
• Interest in contributing to a rapidly evolving organization.

Responsibilities

• Develop understanding of interplay between chemistry, production and biology to identify root causes of deviations.
• Plan and execute experiments with accurate documentation and clear data presentation.
