Job summary

BillionToOne Inc. is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to join the Process Engineering team in Menlo Park, supporting clinical patient testing in a high-throughput CLIA lab.

You will lead exploration of new technologies, validate chemistry/process changes, and develop GMP/ISO compliant scale-up and tech transfer procedures. You will mentor junior engineers, work with data science to monitor CQAs, and apply Six Sigma and Design-for-Quality to improve molecular diagnostic assays while

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s or Ph.D. in biology, bioengineering, or related sciences.

Responsibilities

• Source and evaluate external technologies to improve COGS, throughput, or assay performance.
• Develop strategies to support 2-3X growth in commercial volume.
• Enhance process control to reduce failures and improve assay performance.
• Mentor junior engineers and establish best practices.
• Facilitate technology transfer between R&D and clinical lab with CPPs, tolerances, and failure modes.
• Work with Bioinformatics/Data Science to translate CQAs into monitoring tools.
• Develop data handling tools for efficient sample processing and monitoring.
• Apply six sigma, 5S, and design-for-quality to improve processes.
• Lead thorough root cause analyses for long-term solutions.
