Job summary

Complete Genomics Incorporated in San Jose, CA, seeks a Scientist / Senior Scientist, NGS R&D, to lead the design, development, and optimization of sequencing workflows, library preparation chemistries, and targeted screening panels.

Working across molecular biology, chemistry, and data science, you will collaborate across disciplines to translate concepts into real-world sequencing applications, contribute to SOPs and IP filings, and drive rigorous, data-driven experimentation on-site.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. required in a life sciences field.
• 0–5+ years hands-on NGS experience preferred.
• Experience designing and optimizing sequencing workflows and assays.
• Strong publication or IP development track record helpful.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize sequencing workflows and library preparation chemistries.
• Evaluate and integrate emerging sequencing platforms and microfluidic technologies.
• Plan and execute complex laboratory experiments with a data-driven approach.
• Collaborate with engineering, bioinformatics, and software teams on R&D projects.
• Document SOPs and contribute to IP filings and regulatory submissions.
