Job summary

AskBio Inc. in RTP, NC is seeking a Senior Scientist, Molecular Biodistribution to lead biodistribution and gene expression assessment strategies for genetic medicine programs.

You will design fit-for-purpose assays, generate tissue distribution data, and inform candidate selection, dose strategy, and regulatory submissions. The role requires 5+ years in biotech/pharma, PhD preferred, hands-on experience with ddPCR/qPCR/RT-qPCR, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in biotech/pharma or translational research supporting genetic medicine.
• Direct experience with biodistribution and gene expression studies in gene therapy.
• Experience with nonclinical development considerations and regulated documentation.
• Strong hands-on nucleic acid extraction from tissues and biofluids.

Responsibilities

• Design and support biodistribution and gene expression assessment plans.
• Develop and troubleshoot molecular assays for vector genomes and transgene expression.
• Analyze biodistribution data to inform dose, tissue targeting, and safety.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure assay transfer and data quality.
• Summarize findings for study reports and regulatory submissions.
