AskBio Inc. seeks a Senior Scientist, Molecular Biodistribution, to lead design and execution of biodistribution and gene expression studies for gene therapy programs.

Qualifications

• PhD in molecular biology, pharmacology, bioanalytical sciences, genetics, biomedical sciences or related field with 5+ years’ experience; or Master’s with 10+ years’ experience.
• Hands-on experience designing, executing, and interpreting biodistribution and gene expression studies for gene therapy, esp. AAV-based programs.
• Experience with nucleic acid extraction from tissues and biofluids and with quantitative molecular assay platforms (ddPCR, qPCR, RT-qPCR).
• Experience supporting preclinical drug development, including non-GLP and/or GLP studies, assay qualification, and regulated documentation.
• Understanding of nonclinical development considerations for genetic medicines: tissue tropism, vector persistence, transgene expression, safety assessment.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute biodistribution and gene expression assessment plans for genetic medicine programs.
• Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot molecular assays to quantify vector genomes and transgene expression.
• Coordinate assay controls, standards, normalization, and data quality for regulated and non-regulated studies.
• Summarize findings and present results to cross-functional and senior stakeholders.
