Job summary

Neurocrine Biosciences is seeking a collaborative scientist to develop and characterize iPSC-derived cellular and disease models, including mono-, co-, and tri-culture systems, and establish cell-based assays for drug discovery. You will lead the high-content imaging platform (Operetta) and oversee image acquisition, analysis workflows, and data interpretation.

The role requires strong expertise in HCI, multicellular neuron/astrocyte/microglia models, and experience with image analysis tools

Qualifications

• BS/BA and 6+ years of experience or MS/MA and 4+ years or PhD and 2+ years of experience
• Experience with iPSC-derived cellular models and multicellular co-/tri-culture systems
• Strong high-content imaging (HCI) expertise including assay development and image-analysis workflows
• Experience with image analysis pipelines and large imaging datasets

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and characterization of iPSC-derived models (mono-, co-, tri-culture)
• Develop and optimize cell-based assays and phenotypic readouts
• Lead the high-content imaging platform (Operetta) including design and data analysis
• Develop automated image-analysis pipelines (segmentation, classification, feature extraction) and apply advanced analytics
• Provide training and technical support for HCI instrumentation and data workflows
• Design and execute experiments independently and troubleshoot challenges
• Evaluate new cell models and imaging approaches to expand capabilities
• Collaborate with other departments to support therapeutics testing and program advancement
