Job summary

Uber Technologies Inc. in Seattle seeks a data scientist to leverage experiments, causal inference and ML model development for fares, policy design, UX, and optimization. You will partner across product, engineering and operations to shape the roadmap and drive data-driven decisions.

You will build models to address complex problems and communicate findings to leadership to influence product direction and business outcomes at Uber and Uber Eats.

Qualifications

• PhD, MS, or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, ML or other quantitative fields.
• 3+ years of industry experience as an Applied or Data Scientist or equivalent.
• Experience with experiment design, exploratory data analysis, causal inference and model development.
• Proficient in SQL and a scripting language (Python/R).

Responsibilities

• Refine ambiguous questions and generate data-backed hypotheses through deep data understanding.
• Use experiments and causal inference methods to validate hypotheses and drive business goals.
• Partner with product, engineering and operations to drive product strategy.
• Influence the product roadmap for fares and cross-organizational teams.
• Build ML models to solve complex problems and create AI agents to automate data science workflows.
• Communicate findings clearly to leadership to influence decisions and direction.
