Job summary

Uber is seeking a Data Scientist to refine questions, design experiments and build causal, data-driven models across the Fares platform. You will collaborate with product, engineering and operations to shape strategy and roadmaps, creating AI-enabled workflows and telling stories with data to leadership.

The role emphasizes strong quantitative skills, experimentation, and cross-team influence to drive Uber's fares product direction in fast-paced environments.

Qualifications

• Ph.D., M.S., or Bachelor's in CS, Statistics, Economics, ML or other quantitative field.
• 3+ years of industry experience as Applied/Data Scientist or equivalent.
• Experience with experiment design, exploratory data analysis, causal inference and model development.
• Proficient in SQL and a scripting language (Python or R).

Responsibilities

• Refine ambiguous questions and generate data-backed hypotheses through understanding of data, systems, customers and business.
• Use experiments and causal inference methods to validate hypotheses and drive business goals.
• Partner with cross-functional teams across product, engineering and operations to guide product strategy.
• Influence the product roadmap for fares and cross-organizational teams (maps, matching, growth, UX, Ops).
• Build ML models to solve complex problems and create AI agents to automate data science workflows.
• Communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical leadership to influence decisions.
