Job summary

Lilly in Indianapolis is seeking a Senior Scientist to manage the full lifecycle of cell line banking, including preparation, cryopreservation, storage, inventory and distribution, plus coordinating domestic and international shipments.

You will ensure excellent record-keeping in the Electronic Laboratory Notebook, work with scientists and logistics teams across geographies, maintain a clean, safe lab, and drive continuous improvements in process efficiency.

Qualifications

• BA/BS/MS in biology, cell biology, molecular biology or related field with 2–5 years of mammalian cell culture experience.
• Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; Lilly does not sponsor visas for this role.

Responsibilities

• Perform cell line banking activities: preparation, cryopreservation, storage, inventory, dispensing.
• Maintain and culture mammalian cells (suspension and adherent) and troubleshoot issues.
• Coordinate domestic and international shipments ensuring proper packaging and temperature control.
• Maintain ELN records with accuracy and completeness; ensure documentation standards.
• Manage cell line inventory and contribute to process improvements for efficiency.
• Collaborate with scientists, logistics teams, and other stakeholders across geographies.
