Gwinnett County Public Schools seeks an experienced technology support specialist to provide on-site assistance at local schools, addressing hardware, software, AV, and network concerns. The role emphasizes prompt incident response, routine maintenance, and collaboration with district teams to uphold technology standards.

You will work with school staff to train users, manage tickets, and ensure testing devices are ready for use, while following district policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience troubleshooting, supporting, and administering in a LAN/WAN environment including Windows, PC/servers hardware, and AV peripherals.
• Experience with antivirus, fast ethernet, wireless, data backup/restoration, AV support, and network printing preferred.
• In lieu of five years of experience, one year with a bachelors degree or two years with CompTIA A+ and Network+ required.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site support to one or multiple schools daily and support break/fix technology in a timely manner.
• Offer level 1 on-site setup, repair, and support for hardware, software, basic networking, peripheral devices, AV and broadcast equipment.
• Respond to incident reports promptly and professionally.
• Use the district incident management tool to manage and prioritize service requests.
• Isolate LAN/WAN connectivity issues and document inventory of school technology.
• Assist in training staff and users on technology usage.
• Escalate problems after level 1 repair and coordinate with level 2 or vendors.
