Virginia Beach City Public Schools is seeking a full-time Custodian for an evening shift (2:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.) to maintain the cleanliness of school buildings and grounds.

The role includes supervising custodial staff, preparing facilities for events, and ensuring security measures are observed throughout the shift. Qualifications

• GED or some high school; considerable custodial experience.
• High School Diploma preferred; comparable training may substitute for minimum qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform intermediate to high level custodial work to keep school buildings, grounds and furnishings clean.
• Supervise custodial staff and coordinate with other staff during events.
• Ensure doors are locked and secured; clean classrooms, restrooms, corridors, cafeterias, and gym areas.
• Assist with special events setup/breakdown and accept deliveries from vendors.
• Maintain school grounds, inspect HVAC, lighting, and report repairs as needed.
