Job summary

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking a Patient Access Intake Coordinator to ensure all records and imaging are in place before the first appointment and to coordinate scheduling as directed by physician orders. You will work closely with physicians, patients, and a multidisciplinary team to promote efficient, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 1 year experience in Patient Access.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience in healthcare, insurance, or physician practice.
• Experience with medical terminology; ICD-10 coding and third-party reimbursement experience preferred.
• Ability to work in a self-directed manner while interacting with consumers, physicians and medical center staff.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate appointment scheduling as directed by physician orders to streamline patient care needs.
• Ensure all pertinent records and imaging/pathology arrive before the first appointment.
• Direct and engage patients in planning their care in a confidential, efficient, cost-effective, and customer-focused manner.
• Collaborate with hospital disciplines to achieve timely, accurate, and customer-satisfied outcomes.
