Job summary

Orlando Health is seeking a Senior Scheduling Coordinator for the Heart and Vascular Institute in Central Florida. The role involves coordinating scheduling, rescheduling, and cancellations for tests and procedures, while maintaining patient information accuracy and ensuring excellent customer service.

Candidate should have strong experience in clinical registration, familiarity with medical terminology, and the ability to work with physicians, patients, and ancillary teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; medical terminology and/or basic anatomy training preferred.
• Associate’s degree can substitute for up to two years of experience.
• Three years of experience in clinical registration and scheduling required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain departmental schedules and communicate changes to staff.
• Input patient demographics and verify insurance information.
• Input and distribute scheduling information for diagnostic and interventional procedures.
• Explain prep information, arrival time and location to patients.
• Provide accurate scheduling criteria to expedite patient preparation and arrival.
• Collaborate with clinical and business staff to ensure smooth patient management.
• Assist in training or mentoring of team members.
