Job summary

Northwell Health is seeking a Scheduling Coordinator to oversee staff and daily operations for scheduling patient surgeries or procedures. The role ensures optimal use of resources and coordination across departments to deliver timely surgical services.

Responsibilities include prioritizing work, implementing workflow improvements, and communicating schedule changes to relevant units while maintaining supply inventories and administrative duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • General medical office and GI experience preferred but not necessary
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience, required.

  • Reviews scheduled surgeries or procedures with management and nursing personnel prior to the production of final operating room or procedural area schedule for next business day.
  • Ensures effective communication of actual and potential schedule changes to admissions, operating room, and recovery room areas.
  • Ensures adequate inventory of supplies.
  • Handle administrative duties, answer phones and order supplies for the unit as required.
