Betby is seeking an experienced Scala Engineer to join our Line management team. You will help build and maintain a platform that delivers betting odds to the sportsbook, collaborating across multiple teams in a high-impact role.

The role focuses on real-time data delivery, streaming performance, and scalable microservices. You will participate in architecture decisions and improve release reliability while working with modern Scala ecosystems.

Qualifications

• Proven backend experience at Senior or strong Mid level.
• Strong Scala knowledge and ecosystem familiarity (Cats Effect, ZIO, Kyo).
• Experience with streaming in Scala (Reactive Streams, Akka, FS2).
• Experience building web services (REST, GraphQL, WebSockets).
• Experience in distributed systems and microservices (Kafka, RabbitMQ, RPC).
• Ability to design complex systems with non-trivial business logic.

Responsabilités

• Develop and maintain Scala-based sportsbook services.
• Work on real-time data delivery using WebSocket and GraphQL.
• Migrate line delivery from RabbitMQ to Kafka and improve protocols.
• Improve streaming performance, scalability, and loading speed.
• Optimize configuration processing across services.
• Develop Weblines, WebSocket/GraphQL lines, high-load components.
• Contribute to architecture decisions for streaming and line delivery.
• Refactor and improve existing services; implement tests (unit/integration/perf).
• Assist releases to be safer, faster, and more reliable.
