Job summary
City of Fresno is seeking a Senior Water Systems Telemetry and Distributed Control Specialist to enhance and maintain critical utility control systems. The role focuses on SCADA, PLCs, RTUs, and HMI/SCADA graphics across water infrastructure projects in Fresno and surrounding facilities.
The position involves design collaboration, SOP development, and hands-on programming with Rockwell/Allen Bradley and Schneider Electric platforms.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, water science, or closely related field; two years of related experience may substitute education.
- Two years of experience in LAN administration, computer programming, Scada/Telemetry system management or distributed control systems.
Responsibilities
- Oversee programming, databases, and telemetry for control systems using Rockwell/Allen Bradley and Schneider Electric.
- Develops, troubleshoots, maintains, documents and modifies SCADA applications using FactoryTalk View SE, FactoryTalk ME, VBA or similar tools.
- Remote troubleshooting and modification of PLC/RTU code and HMI/SCADA graphics and databases.
- Coordinate with other divisions and work groups to ensure project completion.
- Aids in developing SOPs based on PLC/HMI code.
- Assist in startup and implementation of automated control systems.
- Maintain CMMS work order records and history with technical updates.
