Job summary

Crusoe is seeking a Sr Staff Instrumentation & Controls Engineer, SCADA, to own governance and scaling strategies for SCADA across Crusoe data center projects. You will set standards and provide telemetry frameworks enabling cloud teams and customers to operate data centers efficiently.

This full-time role requires ~25% travel, collaborates with engineering, vendors, and cloud teams, and emphasizes documentation, extensibility, and practical field implementation.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in mission-critical or related industrial control systems environments.
• Deep mastery of the Ignition SCADA platform and version control systems.
• Hosting methodologies including containerization and orchestration alongside bare-metal deployment.
• Proficiency with data center and industrial control protocols (Modbus TCP/IP/RTU, BACnet IP/MS/TP, EtherNet/IP, IEC 61850).
• OT/ICS security fundamentals including Purdue model and secure remote access concepts.
• Clear, cross-functional communication with engineering, vendors, and cloud teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Control Layer Governance: Own tag naming taxonomy and govern interfacing with the control layer across SCADA deployments.
• Version Control Strategy: Provide guidance on version control usage across active projects in the pipeline.
• Governance Documentation: Draft and maintain governance documentation for tagging, version control, and vendor standards.
• Cross-Program Standardization: Collaborate with engineering peers to maintain uniformity while meeting project requirements.
• Vendor Implementability: Ensure governance frameworks are realistically implementable by vendor field teams.
• SME-Level Review: Serve as expert for escalated governance questions.
