Job summary

Crusoe is seeking a Sr Staff Instrumentation & Controls Engineer, SCADA, to own governance and scaling across data center projects. You’ll define control-layer standards and ensure uniform data structures for downstream cloud and customer systems.

You will work with engineering to create practical governance that vendor teams can implement quickly, while maintaining technical rigor and documentation discipline. The role requires 25% travel and offers full-time opportunity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in mission-critical industrial control environments.
• Deep mastery of the Ignition SCADA platform and version control systems.
• Hosting methodologies including containerization and orchestration, plus bare-metal deployment.
• Extensive knowledge of data center/industrial control protocols (Modbus TCP/IP/RTU, BACnet IP/MS/TP, EtherNet/IP).
• OT/ICS security familiarity, Purdue model, secure remote access concepts.
• Ability to communicate complex tech to stakeholders across teams.
• Formal education requirement is stated.

Responsibilities

• Own SCADA governance and drive scaling strategy across a portfolio of Crusoe data center projects.
• Define standards and levers for uniformity while allowing project-specific flexibility.
• Direct documentation practices to keep vendor performance accountable.
• Collaborate with engineering peers to develop deployable governance for vendor field teams.
• Act as SME for escalated governance questions and create authoritative guidance.
• Travel approximately 25% to support projects and escalations.
