Job Summary

The Senior SCADA Engineer will provide leadership and technical expertise in designing, developing, and delivering the SOLV OTS SCADA solution on large-scale PV and BESS projects.

Responsibilities
  • Lead development of monitoring and control systems for utility-scale renewable energy projects including Solar PV, BESS, and Wind.
  • Collaborate within a team to develop system requirements and proposals responding to client RFPs.
  • Define and implement product design standards and best practices aligned with company goals.
  • Oversee the development of device points lists, IP address lists, logic diagrams, HMI mockups, commissioning plans, and checklists.
  • Program and commission PLC controllers, SCADA servers, data historians, and HMI systems.
  • Review project closeout documentation to ensure contractual compliance.
  • Provide technical support for diverse SCADA equipment configurations.
  • Develop and maintain a knowledge base, publish technical bulletins.
  • Coordinate on-site commissioning and installation support with customers and field technicians.
  • Learn and support organizational software and hardware.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for platform development and data integration.
  • Report project status, support risk mitigation, and promote NERC compliance.
  • Support operations center and foster continuous training and career development.

  • Ensure system resiliency and knowledge continuity.

Minimum Requirements
  • Engineering degree in electrical or mechanical engineering preferred; minimum 7+ years in engineering, with experience in renewable energy and SCADA engineering.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, Java, Python, IEC61131-3 Structured Text.
  • Expertise with Inductive Automation’s Ignition and/or Kepware KEPServerEX platforms.
  • Experience with server setup, relational databases, and SCADA applications.
  • Knowledge of PLC equipment like Schweitzer RTAC, Allen Bradley ControlLogix, GE/Emerson RX3i.
  • Strong understanding of SCADA network setup and industry protocols (Modbus, DNP3, OPC UA/DA).
  • Ability to read and develop electrical, networking, and control schematics.
  • Understanding of power plant operations and regulatory interactions.
  • Ability to work with subcontractors and field teams, and proficiency with project management tools.
  • Excellent communication skills.
