Base pay range

$90,000.00/yr - $135,000.00/yr

We are seeking experienced Controls Engineers for our clients in the material handling space!

The position is responsible for setting up, Programming, checking, and modifying electrical controls panels, circuitry, and equipment. Adhering to established guidelines of the controls engineering department.

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

Specific Responsibilities:

· Control of conveyor control systems

· Develop applications for business processes

· Analyze customer data to help provide software solutions for projects

· Program new and modify existing installations of conveyor systems

· Reprogram automation systems for engineering changes and improvements

· Pretest controls programs through the use of test rigs or software emulators prior to shipment

· Provide system installation support and on-site start-up and debugging for both hardware and software

Other Responsibilities:

· Provide assistance and training to other employees in regard to the company’s drawing standards, CAD operation, programming, and file management software

· Provide assistance and training to other employees on data modeling

· Provide preliminary application engineering of required equipment working with project engineering and management

· Assist project manager in generating quote requests for special equipment and subcontracted services

· Provide general information and documentation as requested

· Assist in the development and assembly of control system documents

· Perform related tasks on special projects as directed

· Use standard procedures, forms, and software to perform job functions

· Help develop standards for Controls programming and procedures

· Perform other duties as required for business operations

· Participate in the support rotation as needed to ensure optimal uptime for customers. This involves being on-call for customers during designated times and troubleshooting, advising and fixing customer issues while on-call. This is primarily remote support only.

Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:

· Fundamental working knowledge of PLC logic and controls (RSLogix, Siemens, GE)

· Experience in Java, microcontroller programming, and HDL languages

SQL, Access, and Excel

· Electrical Background (electrician or technician) helpful

· Allen Bradley Panel View use/programming AB Servo and AB VFD drives

· Familiarity with VFD’s, encoders, network/Ethernet controls

· Control panel building and design helpful

· Strong problem-solving skills

· Ability to independently troubleshoot equipment for improvement for quality and delivery

· Ability to read prints, AutoCAD, interpret and modify electrical schematics

· Understanding of conveyors system programming

· Networking, Ethernet, DH+, RIO

· Provide appropriate level of decision making in the layout and design function

· Possess good verbal and written communication skills

· Ability to maintain a good working relationship with the customers, vendors, and team members and to use good judgment in recognizing scope of authority

Education and Experience:

· Degree in Computer programming or related field

· Experience in wiring and reading wiring diagrams

· 5+ years in automation controls, preferably with a system integrator

2-3 years of professional experience with blank sheet coding

· 2 to 3 years electro mechanical experience

· Rockwell software including, RSLogix 5000, RSLogix 500

**This is a remote role that requires 50-60% travel to client project sites**
