Job summary

Barry-WehmillER Design Group in Lakewood, CO seeks a Controls Engineer to join a leading engineering consulting team delivering automation for consumer products, life sciences and industrial clients. You will design, develop, and deploy SCADA/MES systems and collaborate with clients to define scope and deliver results.

You will travel as needed, mentor staff, and contribute to proposals and project setup within a world-class, people‑centric engineering environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience developing automation solutions for consumer products, life sciences or industrial sectors.
• Architecting and implementing SCADA, MES, data collection/reporting systems across platforms.
• Preference for Ignition, Rockwell, or Wonderware; prior system integration experience.
• Experience with PLCs and HMI/SCADA networks; strong client interface skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical project execution within Information Solutions, including budget, schedule, quality, and customer satisfaction.
• Interface with clients to define and manage scope on complex projects.
• Develop, implement, and maintain debugging and maintenance software.
• Design SCADA, databases, and database interfaces.
• Support leadership in securing engagements, including proposal prep, estimating, and contract negotiation.
• Plan workload and staffing to ensure proper execution of projects.
• Leverage firm-wide standards and participate in councils for governance.
• Drive projects to completion and provide technical guidance to the team.
• Build and maintain relationships with key client contacts.
• Coordinate with finance for reporting and project invoicing.
