Job summary

Western Alliance Bank is seeking a Vice President, SBA Business Banking in San Jose. The role requires deep SBA program knowledge, loan structuring, and strong collaboration with Credit Administrators, Loan Operations, and relationship managers to manage SBA lending workflows end-to-end.

The candidate will review new loan requests, ensure approvals, and maintain SLA compliance while supporting cross-selling of services. Travel up to 50% may be required.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of SBA lending or related experience; commercial lending a plus.
• Bachelor's Degree from a 4-year college or university, preferably in Finance or Accounting.
• Strong knowledge of all SBA 7(a) and 504 programs, processes and eligibility.
• Commercial Credit analysis skills with loan structuring experience.
• Strong SBA eligibility and processing knowledge to support 7(a) and 504 controls.
• Minimum five years experience with Sales direct or indirect as SBA SME or processing with Sales teams.
• Excellent communication with bankers and customers; present loan structures and guidance.

Responsibilities

• Draft Opportunity Memos for SBA loans.
• Evaluate SBA Eligibility both initially and prior to approvals.
• Review Credit Quality and SBA structure including loan costs.
• Request missing OM information and communicate with lenders.
• Track decisions from SBA CAO and issue Term Sheets.
• Deliver team package to lenders with Term Sheets for SBA underwriting.
• Participate in training with Sales Team and generate new SBA/504 loans.
• Ensure compliance and quality of processes with internal SBA teams.
