Job summary

Western Alliance Bank seeks a Vice President of SBA Business Banking in San Jose to lead SBA 7(a) and 504 lending initiatives. You will draft Opportunity Memos, assess eligibility, and manage loan structures from origination to closing while coordinating with relationship managers and processing teams.

The role requires deep SBA program knowledge, stellar communication, and the ability to drive cross‑functional processes across the SBA division. Travel up to 50% may be required.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in SBA lending or related commercial lending experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of SBA 7(a), 504, and related programs.

Responsibilities

• Draft SBA Opportunity Memos from data provided by relationship managers.
• Evaluate SBA eligibility and conduct credit quality reviews.
• Review SBA structure, costs, and loan terms for approvals.
• Coordinate with lenders to obtain missing information for credit submission.
• Track SBA CAO decisions, update OM, and issue Term Sheets.
• Deliver team packages to lenders for complete SBA underwriting.
• Participate in cross‑team trainings to generate new 7(a) and 504 loans.
• Ensure compliance and quality controls with Audit and SBA Processing.
