Job summary

WaFd Bank in University Place, WA seeks a Sr. SBA Analyst to provide due diligence and analytical support on SBA 7a loans. You will gather and analyze credit information, assess credit advisability, and help write loan requests, while mentoring junior analysts.

You will also analyze cash flows, perform SBA eligibility verifications, and stay informed on industry trends and economic conditions affecting borrowers. The role emphasizes client service and compliance with banking regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or approved equivalent; experience in commercial financial analysis or lending.
• Experience in financial statement and tax return analysis.
• Preferred 5+ years in financial/credit analysis with SBA 7a focus.
• Strong knowledge of commercial, construction and real estate credit analysis.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; proficient in MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist loan officers and managers in pre-qualification and risk analysis for SBA financing.
• Gather data from clients and sources; prepare spreadsheets and analyze financials.
• Prepare credit narratives including SBA factors for approvals.
• Mentor and coach junior Analysts.
• Perform cash flow analyses and industry comparisons; verify SBA eligibility.
• Support review and renewal of credit facilities; stay aware of market conditions.
• Represent the Bank at community events to promote SBA lending.
• Ensure compliance with Bank policies, BSA/Patriot Act and regulations.
