Job summary

Amazon Leo (Kuiper) seeks a Senior Network Development Engineer to lead hands-on integration and end-to-end testing of satellite communications and ground-network capabilities. You will work across RF, networking, embedded software, cloud services, and test automation to bring new features from lab integration through full validation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in CS/EE or related field.
• 10+ years in satellite comms, cellular or wireless systems.
• Experience troubleshooting complex systems with logs, telemetry and counters.
• Proficient with Linux and standard networking tools (tcpdump, Wireshark, iperf).
• Strong knowledge of TCP/UDP, routing, VLANs, MTU, latency, throughput.
• Experience integrating hardware, software, networking, RF & external test gear.
• Developing test automation or data-analysis tools (Python or similar).
• Ability to lead investigations across multiple teams and communicate findings.
• Experience with satellite payloads or ground systems and 3GPP LTE/5G is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end integration and validation of satellite comms features across payload, gateways, terminals and cloud services.
• Develop and execute test campaigns covering functionality, performance, reliability, scale and failure recovery.
• Translate system requirements into test plans, use cases, success criteria, and verification matrices.
• Bring up new test configurations by integrating terminals, gateways, payloads, RF gear and cloud services.
• Troubleshoot issues using packet captures, logs, telemetry and RF measurements.
• Use tcpdump, Wireshark, iperf and Linux tools to isolate problems (loss, latency, throughput).
• Analyze RF conditions and network behavior across MAC, Layer 2/3, transport and app layers.
• Automate test execution, data collection and reporting using Python or similar.
• Mentor engineers and establish repeatable integration, troubleshooting, and validation practices.
• Document test procedures, verification matrices, dashboards and status reports.
