Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Senior Network Development Engineer to lead end-to-end integration and testing of satellite communications across payloads, gateways, terminals, and networks. You will design test campaigns, verify requirements, and troubleshoot using packet captures, logs, and RF measurements.

Collaboration with RF, hardware, software, and cloud teams is essential to drive root-cause analysis and validation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years of experience in satellite communications, cellular/wireless systems, or end-to-end testing.
• Experience troubleshooting with packet captures, logs, performance counters, and telemetry.
• Experience with Linux and network troubleshooting tools (tcpdump, Wireshark, iperf, traceroute, ping).
• Knowledge of IP networking (TCP/UDP, routing, MTU, latency, throughput).
• Experience integrating and testing hardware, software, networking, RF, and external test equipment.
• Experience developing test automation or data-analysis tools using Python or similar.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end integration and validation of satellite communications features across payloads, gateways, terminals, transport networks, and cloud services.
• Develop and execute test campaigns covering functionality, performance, reliability, scale, and failure recovery.
• Translate system requirements into test plans, use cases, success criteria, and verification matrices.
• Bring up new test configurations by integrating customer terminals, gateway equipment, payload systems, RF gear, network infrastructure, and cloud services.
• Troubleshoot complex issues using packet captures, logs, telemetry, RF measurements, and test data.
• Automate test execution, data collection, and reporting using Python or similar languages.
• Communicate findings clearly and drive cross-functional teams toward root cause and corrective actions.
• Create and maintain test procedures, verification matrices, and program-level dashboards.
