Job summary

EY is seeking an SAP IS-U Billing Senior Consultant to design, configure, test, and implement SAP IS-U Billing and Invoicing solutions for utilities clients. You will work with business stakeholders and technical teams to translate billing requirements into functional designs supporting accurate, timely customer bills across the meter-to-cash lifecycle.

You will gather requirements, configure billing schemas, rates, and master data; support testing, cutover, and post-go-live stabilization; and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 3–4 years SAP IS-U or SAP Utilities experience, incl. at least 3 years with SAP IS-U Billing and Invoicing.
• Hands-on experience delivering functional requirements, configuration or solution design, testing, and production support in a utility environment.
• Experience configuring SAP IS-U billing schemas, rates, facts, operands, billing master data, billing orders, invoicing, and billing-cycle processes.
• Understanding of meter-to-cash processes and the dependencies among Billing, Device Management, Energy Data Management, FI-CA, Customer Service, and connected systems.
• Willingness to travel 40–60%.

Responsibilities

• Gather requirements for billing across electric, gas, and water utilities.
• Configure IS-U Billing and Invoicing solutions, including billing master data and rate structures.
• Configure and validate periodic and non-periodic billing, estimates, rebilling, reversals, adjustments, and bill simulation.
• Configure and validate invoicing, billing documents, and downstream postings with FI-CA.
• Analyze billing exceptions and identify root causes involving meter reads, device data, rates, and contract data.
• Prepare functional designs, configuration docs, test scenarios, and process flows.
• Execute unit/integration testing and support UAT, regression testing, and production stabilization.
• Coordinate end-to-end process impacts across multiple teams.
• Provide knowledge transfer and guidance to client teams and junior staff.
