Job summary

BDO USA, LLP is seeking a State & Local Tax Director to support Principals and the SALT practice with team development, client relationships, and business development. The Director will drive goals through partnerships with Principals and Managing Directors, demonstrating strong project management, technical leadership, and client focus.

You will lead research, compliance, consulting, controversy and specialization efforts across SALT engagements, supervise professionals, and help grow the SALT

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required, focus in Accounting or Taxation, preferred.
• Master’s degree in Accounting or Taxation, preferred.
• Juris Doctorate, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identifies situations necessitating additional research and reviews state guidance to develop strategy.
• Analyzes client facts with state guidance and coordinates outreach as needed.
• Prepares memoranda and matrices formalizing positions on state tax treatment.
• Represents clients before state and local tax authorities on contested issues.
