Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; business majors preferred.
• 7–10 years of Big 4 experience with state income tax and SALT controversy matters.
• Strong interpersonal diplomacy skills for dealing with auditors and authorities.
• Knowledge of in-house legal and tax operations and ability to train others.

Responsibilities

• Lead SALT audits for state income, franchise, sales and use taxes, property taxes, and other non-income taxes.
• Manage SALT appeals and litigation with tax counsel oversight.
• Evaluate corporate activities for state tax consequences and advise clients.
• Translate complex tax advice into actionable guidance for business teams.
• Develop and communicate tax positions during audits, appeals and litigation.
• Provide guidance and training to the tax team on strategic transactions.
