Job summary

Eaton is seeking a Lead Sales Engineer to support Power Connections relations with key customers in a hybrid (Southfield, MI) setting. You will collaborate with Sales & Engineering teams to maximize product penetration across OEMs and tiers, supporting development, launches, and ongoing program management.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years engineering and 3+ years automotive experience, with strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum five (5) years of engineering experience.
• Minimum three (3) years of experience in the automotive industry.
• Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future.
• No relocation assistance is offered for this position. Only candidates currently residing within a 50-mile radius of the work location (Southfield, MI) will be considered. Active-Duty Military are exempt from this geographical limitation.

Responsibilities

• Learn Power Connections products, capabilities and value add options.
• Work as a member of the OEM DRE team to support product and platform launch execution.
• Develop and maintain relationships at multiple levels in the customer base to for Eaton to be strategic.
• Serve as the initial Power Connections face to customer located onsite at OEM office.
• Assist Program / Platform teams in defining requirements, design evaluations, and validation.
• Manage Sample Orders, Tracking, and Delivery.
• Manage OEM engineering projects, release, and management systems acting as the Eaton lead, coordinating all required project steps with the appropriate Eaton cross functional team member(s).
• Monitor customer project timing and milestones, ensuring Eaton project timing meets the needs of the customer. Identify and escalation gaps to leadership and cross functional team as required.
• Release drawings, part numbers, write work orders, manage 5-Phases, manage and track open issues.
• Effectively communicate with team members to promote the business needs of the territory to foster growth.
