Job summary

County Connection is seeking a Manager of Safety and Training in Concord, CA to lead safety, risk, and training programs for staff and passengers. The role focuses on reducing accidents, managing claims, audits, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include developing safety plans, coordinating emergency response, and delivering required training for CDL and other mandated programs. A bachelor’s degree and CDL with P endorsement are required, with several years of supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field such as business administration, public administration, occupational health and safety, risk management, training and development.
• Five+ years of progressively responsible safety, training, and instruction experience, including two+ years in a supervisory role.
• Substitution: ten years of related management responsibilities may qualify in lieu of the degree.

Responsibilities

• Manage risk programs including workers’ compensation and liability claims, and return-to-work strategies.
• Develop and implement internal safety programs, policies and procedures emphasizing a safety-first culture.
• Conduct audits and inspections of departments; identify safety concerns and coordinate corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain safety plans such as PTASP, IIPP, WVPP and ensure FMCSA ELDT compliance.
• Oversee DMV employer testing and pull notice programs and NTD reporting accuracy.
• Arrange training for all employees including CDL requirements and related forms.
• Prepare reports for staff, Board of Directors and regulatory agencies; support handbook updates.
