Job summary

County Connection in Concord, CA seeks a Manager of Safety and Training to lead safety, risk, and training activities agency-wide. You will drive programs to reduce accidents, manage workers’ compensation and claims, and ensure compliance with FMCSA, ELDT, IIPP, and PTASP.

The role oversees CDL training, DMV processes, and development of training materials while coordinating with the Director of Human Resources and external agencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Minimum five years in safety/training with two years supervisory.
• Related experience may substitute education with progressive management.
• Valid CDL-B with P endorsement and air brake certification required.

Responsibilities

• Manage safety, training, and risk programs including claims and return-to-work.
• Develop and maintain safety plans (PTASP, IIPP, WVPP).
• Coordinate emergency response and liaise with EOC.
• Oversee CDL training and employee instruction, including required forms.
• Ensure FMCSA ELDT compliance and DMV testing programs.
• Prepare reports for staff, Board, and regulators.
