Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a District Safety Trainer to lead equipment operator certification and safety training for customers and staff. You will manage class schedules, deliver private sessions at branches or on customer sites, and maintain training records within Sunbelt systems.

You will also drive trainer development, support sales through safety training opportunities, and collaborate with marketing to promote offerings locally. Travel to districts is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of work experience in a related field.
• Heavy equipment experience and certification (MEWP, Forklift, Earth Moving).
• Broad knowledge of industry safety standards, practices, and regulations.
• Experience and knowledge of adult learning methods.
• Dependable, organized, motivated, and self-starter.
• Customer-service and 'solutions' oriented.
• Ability and willingness to travel; overnight travel may be required (10%-15%).
• Proficiency in MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Preferred bilingual in Spanish or French.
• Preferred LMS experience.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct equipment operator certification training and general safety training.
• Publish public training class schedules on a rolling calendar.
• Provide private classes at a branch or customer site.
• Complete training records in SBR systems.
• Trigger issuance of customer wallet cards within 24 hours of class completion.
• Learn new adult training methods and courses.
• Maintain current training and equipment operator certifications.
• Provide Train the Trainer courses for customers.
• Optimize productivity via attendance and scheduling metrics.
• Sell and support sales teams to grow the Safety Training business.
• Collaborate with Marketing to create training flyers and materials.
• Coach Certified Evaluators and provide hands-on practice.
• Support onboarding of new District Safety Trainers and Evaluators.
• Advise on safety issues and standards to employees and customers.
