Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking an experienced Safety Trainer to lead equipment operator and safety training across customer sites and branches in Utah. You will deliver instructor‑led, virtual, and private sessions, manage schedules, and ensure accurate training records in our LMS and systems.

With a minimum of five years in heavy equipment safety and a strong background in adult learning, you will mentor evaluators, support sales opportunities, and help keep all certifications current while

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum 5 years of related work experience.
• Heavy equipment experience and certification (MEWP, Forklift, Earth Moving).
• Broad knowledge of industry safety standards, practices, and regulations.
• Experience and knowledge of adult learning methods.
• Dependable, organized, motivated, and self‑starter.
• Customer‑service and solutions oriented.
• Ability and willingness to travel (10%–15%).
• Proficiency in MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• LMS experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct equipment operator certification and safety training using instructor-led, virtual, and private sessions.
• Publish 3‑month rolling training schedules on the LMS platform.
• Provide private classes at Sunbelt branch locations or customer sites.
• Maintain training records in Sunbelt’s systems for retention and retrieval.
• Trigger wallet cards issuance within 24 hours of class completion.
• Learn new adult training methods and courses for safety topics.
• Maintain current training certifications and equipment operator certifications.
• Provide Train the Trainer courses for customers.
• Optimize productivity by maximizing class attendance and scheduling.
• Sell and support the sales teams to close safety training opportunities.
• Create flyers and sales materials with Marketing Support for local customers.
• Coach and mentor Certified Evaluators in districts.
• Assist District/Regional Managers with onboarding and training of new staff.
• Advise employees and customers on safety issues.
