Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals, Inc. is seeking an experienced Safety Trainer to conduct operator and safety training for customers and employees, using instructor-led and virtual methods. You will publish schedules, provide private classes, and maintain training records in company systems.

Responsibilities include issuing wallet cards within 24 hours, updating training methods, and coaching evaluators. Travel may be 10–15% with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of work experience in a related field.
• Heavy equipment experience and certification (MEWP, Forklift, Earth Moving).
• Broad knowledge of industry safety standards, practices, and regulations.
• Experience and knowledge of adult learning methods.
• Dependable, organized, motivated, and self-starter.
• Customer-service and ‘solutions’ oriented.
• Ability and willingness to travel; overnight travel may be required (10%-15%).
• Proficiency in MS Office products, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct equipment operator certification training and safety training using various modalities.
• Publish public training class schedules on a 3-month rolling calendar.
• Provide private classes at a Sunbelt Rentals location or customer site.
• Complete training records in Sunbelt’s systems for retention and retrieval.
• Trigger issuance of customer wallet cards within 24 hours of class completion.
• Learn new adult training methods and courses for safety topics.
• Maintain current training and equipment operator certifications.
• Provide Train the Trainer courses for customers.
• Optimize productivity by maximizing class attendance and scheduling.
• Sell and support sales teams to grow the safety training business.
• Work with Marketing Support to create flyers and materials to promote training.
