Job summary

Barrick Gold Corporation, through Nevada Gold Mines, seeks a Turquoise Ridge Senior Safety Specialist to lead risk management and safety health initiatives at the Turquoise Ridge Operations in Winnemucca, NV. You will drive hazard identification, risk assessment, and control verification, partnering with operations to reduce risk and improve safety performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety, Occupational Health, Risk Management, Industrial Hygiene, or related field with 6+ years of relevant industry experience preferred; or Associate degree with 9+ years of relevant industry experience preferred.
• 8-12 years of relevant industry experience with leadership in Safety & Health preferred.
• Strong knowledge of the Federal Mine Safety and Health Act and MSHA regulations required.
• Experience facilitating risk assessments and control implementation.
• Professional Safety & Health certifications such as CMSP, CSP, CIH, or preferred equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical advisor on safety risk management, hazard identification, risk assessment, and critical control management.
• Lead and facilitate risk assessments to identify hazards, evaluate risk, and verify controls.
• Develop and implement risk management strategies, processes, and tools.
• Provide guidance to supervisors on hazard identification, risk assessment methodologies, and control verification.
• Maintain risk registers and track corrective actions to closure.
