Job summary

Barrick Gold Corporation in Nevada is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II for Turquoise Ridge Process operations. The role owns the technical specifications of equipment and plant infrastructure, providing in-house expertise to Maintenance and Operations and coordinating MOC with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• PE licensure or ability to obtain via NVBPELS.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience.
• Project Management knowledge and experience required.
• Knowledge of mineral processing operations and construction preferred.
• Knowledge of pressure and steam systems preferred.
• Familiarity with Process Safety Management programs preferred.
• Experience with managing contractors and contract management preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication skills required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

• Drive safety mindset through site programs and risk assessments.
• Oversee identification and verification of critical process safety controls.
• Investigate equipment failures and propose upgrades for reliability.
• Administer and oversee the plant MOC process.
• Support mechanical, instrumentation, automation, and electrical replacements.
• Execute small/medium projects from planning to turnover with compliance.
• Manage project schedule, cost, quality, and documentation.
• Serve as Owners Representative on larger Capital Projects.
• Oversee document management for engineering records.
• Evaluate new technologies and secure stakeholder buy-in.
