Job summary
Salient Motion seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to own safety and reliability deliverables across the product lifecycle for FAA Part 25 / EASA CS-25 programs. You will work with hardware, software, and mechanical teams under the systems engineering lead to drive certification activities.
The role requires 5+ years in systems engineering with at least 3 years in safety/reliability analysis, plus strong documentation and communication skills for DER interfaces.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Systems, Aerospace, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering (advanced degree a plus).
- 5+ years of systems engineering experience with at least 3 years in safety and/or reliability.
- Demonstrated knowledge of safety frameworks (ARP4754B/ARP4761A) or equivalent.
- Proficiency in MTBF analysis and reliability modeling.
- Ability to produce certification-quality documentation for DER/aero customer reviews.
Responsibilities
- Own FHA, PSSA, SSA activities end-to-end and produce compliance deliverables.
- Lead FTA and FMEA/FMES development across system levels with traceability.
- Define and allocate safety requirements to hardware/software/mechanical subsystems.
- Serve as safety engineering point of contact for FAA DER and airframe teams.
