Job summary

Supernal seeks a Lead Engineer, System Safety to own the safety strategy across the aircraft lifecycle. You will drive safety analyses, govern the safety process, and coordinate with engineering teams to meet SAFR/AR standards for an eVTOL program.

The role requires eight+ years in aerospace safety, strong regulatory knowledge, and the ability to influence decisions with cross-disciplinary partners. On-site work is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, electrical, mechanical engineering.
• 8+ years of aerospace experience leading safety engineering activities.
• Experience with FHA, PSSA, SSA, CMA, PRA, ZSA.
• Knowledge of DO-178B/C and DO-254.
• Excellent understanding of FAA/EASA certification processes.
• Experience with eVTOL safety is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own the System Safety function for assigned aircraft programs and lifecycle.
• Serve as technical authority for system safety and risk disposition recommendations.
• Lead planning and execution of system safety activities across disciplines and suppliers.
• Interface with certification authorities and external stakeholders on safety topics.
• Drive safety requirements and risk mitigations across design, test, and operations.
• Mentor safety engineers and cross-functional teams in safety system engineering.
