Job summary

Manhattan Construction Company is seeking a Senior Safety Manager to enforce safety, health, and environmental policies on our construction projects. You will lead safety programs, identify hazards, and ensure compliant, injury-free work sites.

This role requires a proven track record as a safety manager, incident investigations, staff training, and mentoring other safety professionals across multiple projects.

Qualifications

• 4-year bachelor's degree or relevant safety experience.
• Board Certified Safety Professional CHST, ASP, CSP or equivalent.
• 15 years of industry experience.
• First aid & CPR certified instructor.

Responsibilities

• Proven success as Safety Manager.
• Lead in incident investigation & reporting.
• Participate in developing & conducting staff & craft safety orientation training for the project.
• Provide mentorship and development to assigned Safety Managers
• Documents all incidents, safety violations, and unsafe conditions/activities for assigned projects.
• Advises safety directors on safety compliance concerns and preventative actions.
• Maintains safety files and records for multiple projects.
• Lead coordination with safety personnel in your region on requirement updates, announcements on awards, accidents and other significant events.
• Proficient in computer, communication, and training skills.
• Proficient in a managerial role with demonstrated ability to lead a team of safety professionals.
• Knowledgeable and proficient in handling loss time accident cases and managing worker's compensation claims
• Working knowledge of Travelers Insurance & OSHA websites
• Proficient in setting up clinics & hiring Doctors.
• OSHA reporting & filing accident reports and forms.
• Demonstrated ability to lead change initiatives and drive organizational transformation to enhance safety performance.
• Conducts in-house safety training courses for projects.
• Responsible for conducting themselves in accordance with our Guiding Principles and exhibiting attributes matching the Way We Work.
• Other duties as assigned.
