Job summary

Kiewit’s Mining District is hiring a Safety Manager to lead the safety program on complex industrial projects. You will ensure a safety-first culture, supervise incident investigations, and drive continuous improvement, with relocation to project sites as work dictates.

The role requires strong knowledge of OSHA/MSHA regulations, effective communication, and the ability to coordinate with operations and craft teams to stop unsafe work and implement corrective actions.

Qualifications

• Requires degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field; 5+ years in safety management acceptable in lieu of degree.
• CSP and CHST preferred.
• OSHA and MSHA regulations knowledge; hazard recognition and injury management experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage site safety programs at the project level.
• Inspect facilities, equipment and practices to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
• Coach workforce on safe behaviors and adherence to policy.
• Plan with operations to align on leading indicators and upcoming work.
• Maintain MSHA-related records and accident/injury files.
• Coordinate safety trainings and client-specific requirements.
