Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Safety Manager to lead and uphold the Site-Specific Safety Plan across mining and industrial projects in the United States. You will oversee safety program implementation, regulatory compliance, and field coaching for crews, with a focus on preventing incidents and maintaining a proactive safety culture.

Based in the Bagdad, AZ area, the role requires relocation if needed to align with project needs.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field required.
CSP certification preferred; CHST also preferred.
Minimum 5 years of safety management experience on mining or construction projects.
Experience with OSHA and MSHA regulations and hazard recognition.

Responsibilities

Lead the Site-Specific Safety Plan implementation and upkeep on projects.
Inspect facilities, equipment and practices to ensure safety compliance and hazard mitigation.
Coach work crews on safe behaviors and stop-work when necessary to enforce safety.
Coordinate safety training, MSHA orientation, and client-specific safety requirements.
Manage incident investigations, lessons learned, and corrective actions with operations.
