Job summary

Kiewit’s Mining District is seeking a Senior Safety Manager to lead the safety program on industrial construction projects. You will develop, support, and uphold our safety standards to ensure everyone works in a safe condition, in line with our core 'Nobody Gets Hurt' principle.

The role requires inspecting sites, coaching crews, coordinating MSHA/OSHA compliance, maintaining records, and leading incident investigations, with relocation to active projects as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of safety management on mining or construction projects.
• Knowledge of OSHA and MSHA regulations and hazard recognition.
• Experience maintaining safety programs and incident investigations.
• Ability to interact with all management levels and field crews.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety programs at project level and enforce Safe Work Practices.
• Inspect facilities and equipment to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
• Coach workforce on safe behaviors and stop-work when needed.
• Plan with operations using leading indicators to prevent incidents.
• Maintain MSHA records and accident/injury files.
• Coordinate safety trainings and MSHA orientation.
• Manage incident investigations and lessons learned.
• Interface with MSHA/state inspectors as needed.
