Job summary

Weeks Marine, Inc. in the Safety department seeks an experienced Sr Safety professional to lead and audit our construction safety program across multiple projects. The role emphasizes reducing risk and reinforcing our core principle: Nobody Gets Hurt.

You will develop training materials, monitor compliance, and coordinate safety initiatives with project teams in NY, NJ, or CT, with flexibility to support all three states as needed. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Safety, or a related field.
• CSP or CHST is preferred; OSHA 30 may be required.
• 5–7+ years of experience managing safety on heavy civil construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, hazard recognition, record keeping, and incident management.
• Proficient with MS Word and Excel; able to develop training materials.

Responsibilities

• Manage the company environmental health and safety programs at the project level.
• Analyze occupational illness and accident data at the project level.
• Develop features to reduce exposure to hazards and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify hazards.
• Coach employees on safe behaviors and conduct safety training.
• Develop training materials and maintain training records.
• Coordinate safety training to support client requirements and orientations.
