Job summary

iLocatum, a national family-owned construction management firm, seeks a Senior Safety Manager to lead safety across a Business Unit and promote a people-first safety culture on multiple projects.

You will develop project-specific safety plans, perform regular inspections with high observation counts, and audit teams to drive corrective actions. The role includes mentoring safety professionals and supporting client pre-qualifications.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of construction safety management experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety Management, Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent education and experience considered.
• Associate or Certified Safety Professional (ASP/CSP) certification preferred; GSP, SMP, or CHST considered with equivalent experience.
• OSHA-authorized safety instructor certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of construction safety regulations and hazard correction methods.

Responsibilities

• Lead the safety culture across projects within your Business Unit.
• Develop and roll out project-specific safety plans based on risk alignment assessments.
• Perform 6+ safety inspections per month with 100+ observations each.
• Audit project teams and track trends using a safety management platform, then guide leadership on focus areas and corrective actions.
• Coach project teams on hazard identification and corrective actions.
• Ensure incidents are investigated, documented, and closed per company policy.
• Deliver safety training (IIF, topical, playbooks, and more).
• Mentor, coach, and support career development for Safety Managers on your team.
• Support business development with client safety pre-qualifications and presentations.
• Build relationships across the industry and represent the company at peer meetings.
