Job summary

The W22 seeks an experienced Safety Manager to lead field safety across active civil and site development projects. The role directly partners with crews and project leadership to identify hazards and craft practical solutions that keep work safe and efficient.

You will collaborate with Superintendents and field teams to plan work, conduct safety orientations, document inspections, and promote a proactive safety culture throughout the organization.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction safety experience or a related safety degree with field experience.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA construction standards and civil/site hazards.
• Experience with excavation/trenching, heavy equipment, fall protection, confined spaces, and safety documentation.

Responsibilities

• Partner with field crews and leadership to identify hazards before work begins and develop practical solutions.
• Participate in pre-planning to ensure safety considerations are included in field operations.
• Work with Superintendents and project managers on day-to-day safety.
• Maintain a visible field presence and build relationships with crews.
• Conduct employee safety orientations and pre-task safety planning.
• Recognize jobsite hazards and take corrective action.
• Perform and document weekly safety inspections.
• Ensure inspections for excavation/trenching, heavy equipment, fall protection, scaffolding, cranes, confined spaces, and hot work.
• Lead and document weekly toolbox safety talks.
• Ensure Competent Persons complete all required inspections.
• Maintain safety documentation and training records.
• Participate in project safety meetings and communicate safety expectations.

We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to lead field safety efforts across active civil and site development projects. The ideal candidate is proactive and field-oriented, working directly with crews and project leadership to identify potential hazards before work begins and develop practical solutions that allow work to be performed safely and efficiently.

This position will work hand-in-hand with Superintendents, Operations Managers, Project Managers, Foremen, and field crews to plan work, recognize potential risks, and maintain a strong safety culture throughout the organization.

Responsibilities

• Partner with field crews and project leadership to identify potential hazards before work begins and develop practical solutions
• Participate in pre-planning of upcoming work to ensure safety considerations are incorporated into field operations
• Work closely with Superintendents, Operations Managers, Project Managers, and Foremen on day-to-day safety
• Maintain a visible presence in the field and build strong relationships with crews
• Conduct employee safety orientations and pre-task safety planning
• Recognize jobsite hazards and take immediate corrective action when necessary
• Perform and document weekly jobsite safety inspections
• Ensure required inspections are completed for excavation/trenching, heavy equipment, fall protection, scaffolding, cranes, confined spaces, and hot work
• Lead and document weekly toolbox safety talks
• Ensure designated Competent Persons complete all required inspections
• Maintain safety documentation, inspection reports, training records, and other required project records
• Participate in project safety meetings and communicate safety expectations to employees and subcontractors
• Promote a proactive safety culture focused on preventing incidents rather than reacting to them

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction safety experience, or a degree in Safety with relevant field experience
• Experience in civil/site development, excavation, underground utilities, heavy equipment, or heavy civil construction strongly preferred
• OSHA 30 certification
• CPR and First Aid certification
• CSP, ASP, or CHST certification preferred
• Strong knowledge of OSHA construction standards
• Strong understanding of excavation/trenching, heavy equipment, fall protection, confined spaces, and other civil construction hazards
