Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company is seeking an Electrical Inspector to oversee electrical, communication, and instrumentation installations on construction projects. The role requires strong knowledge of NEC/CSA codes, wiring methods, and hazardous locations, with experience reading diagrams and maintaining logs.

You will ensure adherence to project drawings and contract documents, validate inspections, and support pre-commissioning activities while enforcing safety standards and MOC processes on

Qualifications

• Familiar with applicable electrical codes (NEC/CSA)
• Ability to read piping and instrumentation drawings, wiring diagrams, and logic diagrams
• Knowledge of flame and gas detection systems in an industrial setting
• Understanding of A/C power systems: single and three phase
• Experience interpreting hazardous locations per NEC/CSA and company specs
• Knowledge of LOTO procedures and electrical installation for industrial applications

Responsibilities

• Ensure installation complies with drawings, plans, specs and contract documents
• Maintain an inspector's logbook with detailed records
• Validate contractor completes tasks per the Inspection and Test Plan
• Verify materials meet company and manufacturer requirements
• Ensure MOC processes are followed for design changes or substitutions
• Advise supervisor of issues during construction
• Support pre-commissioning activities such as loop checks and motor bump runs
• Maintain safe arc blast/arc flash clearances on site
