Atoms is building the machines that power the next era of progress. The Safety & Reliability team leads end-to-end safety arguments, ensuring rigorous CAE practices and evidence-driven conclusions for production systems in a fast-moving, hardware-software integrated environment.

This role emphasizes cross-functional leadership, data provenance, and AI-assisted safety workflows. The base salary range is $182,000–$230,000 per year, with equity and annual performance-based bonuses.

Qualifications

• 9+ years of cross-functional experience in functional safety, autonomous behavior, and fleet operations.
• Author of record for a structured safety argument (GSN/CAE) on a production system.
• Hazard analysis and validation expertise with scenario-based validation.
• Strong data provenance practices and ability to critique measurements and estimates.
• Ability to enforce safety gates under commercial pressure.

Responsibilities

• Own the defined scope of the safety case end-to-end, from drafting to sign-off.
• Define operational conditions, assumptions, exclusions, and hazards within scope.
• Evaluate evidence sufficiency and data provenance with safety leads.
• Construct CAE structure with clear validity boundaries.
• Lead formal safety reviews and governance, acting as independent reviewer.
• Improve methodologies and tooling to prevent unsafe workarounds.
• Pioneer AI-assisted safety workflows for drafting and hazard testing.
